Adoptions at Web Baby Shower: What's the same? What's different?
For the most part, having a Web Baby Shower is the same no matter how the babies are arriving. You still only have one set of parents after all! All of the features such as the home page, live chat, journal, photo album, videos, gift registries and so forth can be used "off the shelf." In order to make your Web Baby Shower different for adoption showers, Web Baby Shower offers customizations to the Birthday Bets game (called "Gotcha Bets" for adoptions). As the adoption progresses, I can also customize an adoption/arrival home announcement for you. Keep reading for more information on all of this!

Dates and Places
In order to get the best service for your adoption shower at Web Baby Shower, please set up the Birthday/Gotcha Bets page, even if you decide to turn it off and not actually use it. Setting up that page for an adoption will alert other pages in your Web Baby Shower to use adoption-specific wording such as "Expected Adoption Date" instead of "Expected Due Date" and so forth. In addition, I am happy to customize your Web Baby Shower with additional details of the adoption. If you would like to add a date of birth (or due date), expected travel date, expected arrival home date and/or the state/country of the adoption to your Web Baby Shower, please contact me with these details and I will add them near the "Expected Adoption Date" in your Web Baby Shower.
Birthday / "Gotcha" Bets
The Birthday Bets game is completely customizable for adoptions -- in fact even the name changes to "Gotcha Bets" when you set it up for an adoption. For more information specifically about the Birthday/Gotcha Bets game, please see the Birthday Bets Help and Gotcha Bets Help pages. If you are throwing an adoption shower, I would recommend setting up a Gotcha Bets game for your Web Baby Shower (even if you decide to leave it off) as this will indicate to other features on the site that the shower is for an adoption and will thus improve the overall customization of your Web Baby Shower.
Announcing The Adoption
Depending on the circumstances of the adoption, I am happy to customize the dates and wording as the adoption progresses. We can change "Expected Adoption Date" to "Date of Adoption" and so forth. Please email me with the details as you would like to announce them and I can customize the "Birth Announcement" page to reflect the details of the adoption as it unfolds (and rename it to an "Adoption Announcement"). At this time, you cannot automatically announce adoptions.
