Required Name Tips

In order to operate a business, comply with local, state and Federal legislation and ensure the general integrity of Web Baby Shower, I need to always have valid, full name for the host contact and expecting parent(s). There are several customization and privacy protection features available at Web Baby Shower that should make it unnecessary to enter false names or irrelevent data in a required name field.

Definition of "Valid, Full Name"

These are general guidelines to help define what my expectations for "valid, full name" are. All data submitted to the Web Baby Shower website is subject to my approval and I reserve the right to terminate services to anyone at any time for any reason without refund.

  • The names on file in the Required Name Fields in your Host Control Panel should contain EXACTLY ONE PERSON'S LEGAL FIRST AND LAST NAME.
  • YOU MAY NOT ENTER PARTIAL NAMES, SCREEN NAMES, MORE THAN ONE NAME, OR DATA THAT IS NOT A NAME IN THE REQUIRED NAME FIELDS.
  • Nicknames based on a legal first name are acceptable.
  • In the case of twins, triplets and multiples you may enter more than one first name in the baby first name field. For all other required name fields, please enter only one person's name.
  • ANY WEB BABY SHOWERS THAT VIOLATE THE REQUIRED NAME FIELDS WILL BE TERMINATED IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT REFUND. This is now specified in the Terms of Service which you can view at: http://www.webbabyshower.com/serviceTerms.php

Required Names

The following names are required at Web Baby Shower and must be valid, full names:

  • Exactly One Host Contact on the Host Control Panel "Edit Host Information" page
  • Expecting Parents (up to two) on the Host Control Panel "Edit Expecting Family Information" page

How To Protect Your Privacy at Web Baby Shower

There are several privacy and password options available at Web Baby Shower. If you would like to make customizations or privacy changes, please follow these suggestions, which are all accessible via the Host Control Panel:

  • You can give credit to more than one host by using the "Host Introduction" on the Edit Host Information page. Please use this field to list all the hosts you'd like to give credit to and to make any comments you'd like to appear in the second paragraph on your Web Baby Shower home page.

  • You can customize the top introductory paragraph on your Web Baby Shower home page using the "Introduction" on the Edit Expecting Family Information page.

  • You can protect the privacy of your Web Baby Shower on the Privacy and Passwords settings page. You can choose to not have your Web Baby Shower appear on the list of current showers (Medium Privacy) or to not appear in the search results on that page at all (High Privacy). My recommendation is usually to use Low Privacy so that search engines and ultimately people can find your Web Baby Shower. There have been lots of unexpected and joyful reunions at Web Baby Shower recently! But, I also understand if you would rather keep your Web Baby Shower private.

  • You can also choose to add several levels of password protection to your Web Baby Shower. Please see the Web Baby Shower Password Help page for more information.

I am planning to make even more options available in terms of keeping valid names on file with me vs. names to be displayed on each Web Baby Shower, but for now I would appreciate it if everyone would work with me within the current structure.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email. I really appreciate everyone's cooperation and understanding in this matter.
